Installation Instructions

Model SC-934 Overhead Bracket

  • SC-934-1 for pump shotguns
  • SC-934-1B for most any weapons
  • SC-934-5 for any weapon
  • SC-934-AR for a limited selection of rifles

Installation is limited to the roll bar of a partition wall.

We selected an AR-15 for demonstration but the same mounting principles apply to all weapons.

Fig. 1. MARK GUN LOCK CENTERLINE
Hold the actual weapon together with a gun lock at your desired mounting location and decide where do you want the gun lock to grab the weapon. Have a felt pen ready to to mark the gun lock centerline on the foam cushion of the rollbar.

Fig. 2. TAKE MEASURMENTS
Depending on your setup - muzzle or butt - , measure the distance from the center line to the end of the muzzle or butt stock.

Fig. 3. CUT FOAM COVER ON BACK OF ROLLBAR
Push a sharp pencil/screwdriver through the foam at your mark and make a vertical cut in the foam at that point in the back.

Fig. 4. INSTALL U-BOLT
Install the 2 plastic points on the legs of the U-bolt and push it through from the back so the whole U-bolt disappears under the foam cover.

Fig. 5. DISCARD PLASTIC TIPS
Remove and discard plastic tips from U-bolt legs.

Fig. 6. INSTALL WASHERS AND NUT
Install flat washer, lockwasher and nut on the TOP leg of the U-bolt.

Fig. 7-8-9. INSTALL MOUNTING BASE
Hook up top of mounting base under nut and washers you just installed on the top leg of the U-bolt. Fold mounting base down so the bottom leg of the U-bolt comes through the hole in the base and install washers and nut on the bottom leg of the U-bolt. Pay attention to the alignment of the front face of the base. Move it up and down to your desired angle then tighten both nuts.

Fig. 10 and 13. INSTALL GUN LOCK
See Figures 10 and 13 for gun lock mounting samples. Simply mount your gun lock in the threaded holes provided in the flanges of the mounting base and/or follow gun lock manufacturer's installation instructions.

Fig. 11 and 12. BUTT PLATE INSTALLATION
Decide if you want your weapon to be parallel (Fig. 11.) or perpendicular (Fig. 12.) to the roof. Use two 5/16-18 button head screws in the package to install the L shape Butt Plate support (SC-9903) on a base still not mounted on the roll bar. Install a Butt Plate on the L bracket in the desired (vertical or horizontal) configuration. Place your actual weapon in the already installed gun lock. Position the mounting base-L bracket-Butt Plate assembly at the roll bar so the weapon fits nice in the Butt Plate with a little (1/8") play. Mark the centerline of the mounting base on the foam rubber cushion of the roll bar. Go back to the rear passenger/prisoner compartment and install this second mounting base by repeating steps from Fig. 3.

Fig. 14, 15 and 16. MUZZLE PLUG/CUP INSTALLATION
Same as above for Butt Plate installation except you will have to use a different L bracket (SC-9902). Also see Fig. 15. for Muzzle Cup assembly.
